You may notice about me, that i really, really love conspiracy nuts. Not so much conspiracy theorists.. i'm ok with people questioning reality.. i mean people who are nuts, like fucking nuts. My fave is still this guy, but right now, i feel like i've just hit a motherload.
It starts when a mate tweeted a link to this groundbreaking report:
Thats right folks: The visible spectrum is NOT NATURAL. And somebody obviously hasn't seen a certain pink floyd album.
At first it's hard to tell if this is sheer stupidity or lack of education, but as some comments point out, she obviously did not attempt to research it, like, at all.. nor did she examine it very well or she would've seen the chemicals don't work on the other side.
Heres another deeply informative video. So informative in fact, that the maker was obviously worried it wasn't scary enough, so decided to add her own stupid noises and shitty CGI effects.
(video description: "Looks like they are ionizing their plasma energy field")
Ok, from what i remember from A levels and what those diagrams show, to reach the plasma state you've gotta get pretty hot. Hot, like, i dunno, the fucking sun. And the last time i went on a plane, we went through the clouds, and ice formed on the windows. I think that says enough.
You might be getting this feeling by this point that the author is really not aware of basic science, or even, how to read properly. If you watched the last video thinking, 'that was just gibberish punctuated by long words and scientific phrases pasted from wikipedia' then you can eat your heart out on this one. Notice some of the info paragraphs aren't even finished, such is the quality of the copy-pasting. Meanwhile, the filmmakers actual contribution is minimal, both in content and intellect.
To be honest i had a real hard time trying to work out what the fuck the video was meant to be conveying, but with help from the description and the comments, i think the plot is this: She put a container outside to collect rain. She then studied it under a microscope and saw what she thinks is a rotifer. She concluded the rotifer had been IN the rain, and "they" had put it there using aerosols.. to "HELP THEM MODIFY THE WEATHER".
When asked how she knows the organism wasn't from the container, she responds: 'Because it was clean and dry before it was put out to catch the rain'. News Flash, people: There are no germs outside.
Also I feel the need to point out that i had to check wikipedia on the whole rotifer thing.. and after experiencing a little deja vu with the first paragraph, i looked at the picture.. which is presumeably more than she did.
Welp, im sure i've bored you enough, but don't go thinking that's all the videos this lady has done. She has an entire channel of the stuff, and it covers everything from "They wrap the sound around us at night, n pull it away during the day using the TRAINS. " to "SOUND OF HOUSE WAVES AND WAVES OF ENERGY." But seriously, i'd only look if you A) have a lot of time on your hands, and B) are not easily depressed by the stupidity of some humans.

This won't be relevant for another 32 days
A thought occured to me only minutes ago, which will hopefully lead to the saddest, lamest, dumbest, nerdiest post i ever do:

I'm going to start (mentally) counting down til it reaches 365 days, purely because i want to know if it'll say 'one year' or continue counting in days.
If he logs in on the 364th day, i am SO going to kill him.

Adventures in my hard drive
My 'My Pictures' folder now stands at 9.8 GBs, about 10% of my computer's hard drive. Yeh, its a laptop. Now that im working a lot in that folder, it kinda needs to be cleaned up a little.
These are just a few of the bizarre pics i found and wanted to share.
WARNING: just to let you know, these are not all entirely work-place friendly.. and by continuing further you acknowledge you are going to see what you cannot un-see. And ill leave it to you to decide wether i've visually abused you or not.
This is incredible. What gets me is not the fact its so clearly a grotesquely obese old man, trying to be some kind of hot diva, albeit one that- at best- went off the rails slightly.. Its the vest top underneath. Not only does it imply that he actually does need support up there and the bra wasn't purely a gimmick, but it kinda highlights the fact the bra just isn't big enough for him and it's rather unflatteringly riding up over the top. And the choice of vest top, incidentally, was an appalling one. It's not white.. or cream.. or even beige.. it's 'used to be white 20 years ago but has become so stained with sweat and beer since, its best to just call it.. off colour.' I can only guess he chose that one so it would blend with his skin tone the subtlest.
Ok, so, just to remind ourselves, the Beano is definitely intended to be a comic for kids. This is a snippet from Calamity Joe. Ok. I'm gonna be straight about this. I'm not sure that.. thing.. shown is even suitable for adults..
Love this pic to bits, it's kinky to the bone. Am i breaking rules putting this up here? Anyway. They clearly just don't give a fuck. I've got this whole impression of their relationship.. earlier that day, one lad turned to the other and said, 'should we do it?' the other thought a minute, then said.. 'lets fucking do it!' and they went and fucking did it. Awesome.

That there, is an old work colleague on his trip in south america. I think we have to just take this one at face value.
Ill say one thing.. Ive heard that apparently in america, 'shag' is a term for 'dance'.. hence there are 'shag clubs', presumeably 'shag instructors', tv shows called 'Strictly Come Shagging', games such as 'Shag Shag Revolution' and possibly even films with titles like 'Shags with Wolves.' What a place to take a holiday!
Well, with those being todays crop, what else may i find? Time will tell!

Talið með mer
For someone who hated learning english, and literature, and hated being forced to learn the language of a culture i didnt like, I often experience a strange compulsion to study foreign languages.
In the past, ive had a go at learning hawaiian, japanese, and also turkish (though that one only lasted a week) and now i'm trying with icelandic. Theres a couple of reasons why icelandic:
1a. It's the language of the vikings. and i still havent finished being into vikings.
1b. No one has really gone there since the vikings, so theyre effectively still speaking old norse. Hence it's the closest still-spoken language to old english.
2. I've long wanted to go to iceland. apart from the viking thing, they get auroras, icebergs, volcanoes, hot springs, 3 month-long nights, roast puffin and an overall lack of sunlight. these are all things i want in my life.
3. Its nice learning it while listening to Ghosts i-iv as the music always makes me think of mysterious primal icey wilderness, but probs just me.
4. Because everyone wants to know the other bits bjork's singing.

I've heard that if you want to really understand a culture, you have to learn the language. It certainly seems to be true.. take some of the strikingly different linguistic rules of japanese. An emphasis is placed on the ownership and belonging of items and people (we are not 'men' and 'women', we are 'people of male group' and 'people of female group'); and then there are multiple options for words like 'giving' and 'recieving', depending on the social status of the parties involved. People are always referred to by name, never by 'he', 'she', 'you', or 'they'. Also it's interesting to observe they technically have no future tense, they just refer to things they intend to happen ("i have planned a party", rather than "i will have a party"), and things that are typically likely to happen ("this happens on sundays") implying the japanese do not take the future for granted. Which in turn, may lend some insight into their obsession with routine and punctuality.
Already it seems to me the norse have a totally different take on ownership. Rather than state the name of the owner then the object, the owned item comes first and the owner need not be named. This probably isn't surprising as icelanders apparently 'place great importance on independance and self sufficiency'. Also the lack of excitement over ownership probably explains a little about viking behaviour- they were primarily explorers and raiders, rather than conquerers and colonisers (despite being capable) and rarely, if ever, took slaves.
Well, who knows what truths their language may reveal about them, and consequently, our own ancestors. Btw, if anyone was wondering, it says 'speak with me' and the ð is pronounced 'th'.

This Morning with Issi
Little interesting to report today, except that i am coming down with illness, my right gland is swollen right up :( and my ear keeps rumbling :( and my head hurts :( and my tummy doesn't want to eat anything.
Today though i woke up to an unusually light hearted debate. I still don't know if next year is "two thousand and ten" or "twenty-ten". My suspicion is that, like Blu-ray and HD, both will be seen around a lot at first, but soon only one will come to dominate, marginalising the acceptance of the other. As has always been the way of things.
In other news, apparently 'The gender verification test is an extremely complex procedure.' i'm interested to know how, exactly. Hey maybe i should try it, for a laugh. Would be awesome to find out i'm a man.

about a company
I'm not sure if i've already mentioned.. so i'm mentioning now. Exciting developments are taking place! A friend approached me a couple of months ago about setting up a design company. Hell, why the fuck not. I've been doing portfolio work for it, and designed a logo, and we are now in the relatively final stage of setting up our website, which i'm designing layouts for. In short, a website of my/ our work (well ok my, as im the only one producing any at the moment) is impending.
I tell you this, not because it is interesting, as it's kind of not, but because it makes me happy!
