Today i rediscovered my UV body crayons, so naturally i tried to melt them onto myself. It actually turned out to be very un-viable, I could only scrape off and melt a bit of wax at a time, and i only had a hair dryer to melt it with. Also the wax cracked easily, as you can see in the last picture.. all gone. Hence i gave up after a while, so the colouring is only half complete :(
I will be sure to buy a candle at some point so i can melt them easier and make a better effort and a different design, so stay tuned. Anyway this is what it looks like, only, it was a trillion times cooler in real life because UV glowiness rocks, but this is as good as my camera does..

lol yes skin, was that what you'd been waiting for? sorry to have kept you waiting! I don't think i have any other 'works of art hidden away'- that isn't a tattoo or anything, i just drew it on for the occasion. but im glad u like it :)

ReplyDeleteI heard (well im pretty sure the first bit is at least true) that some minerals glow/ emit light under high energy radiation, essentially like how UV stuff does under UV. So, it is theorised that on planets orbitting pulsars minerals in the ground and rocks flash from the beam of radiation sweeping over the planet. is that not totally fuckin cool? Imagine if life evolved on those planets, it would be the ultimate cyberpunk party race
I just found a webpage speculating on 'pulsar planets' it had this to say:

If this is the case, then the planet may have a tenuous atmosphere after all, albeit one caused by material being lost directly from the solid surface."
I have this image of dawn, seeing the whole horizon in a blue haze as the material vaporizes off the surface of the planet from the radiation. Horrifically deadly, but awesome.

Think living on a flourescent planet would get kind of dull (pun intended) after a while.
ha, you're too kind :) yeh it was supposed to be some kind of cybernetic form really, with more wires and lights. as i said though i didnt get far and hopefully i'll come back to the idea in the future.

ReplyDeleteoh, a few months. I'm not very good at it. I had a clue before i said anything though. i was thinking about making a post about headphones to see if you'd give a knowledgeable reply, but i never got round to it! wish i had now.
